Schedule for 2014 Offseason:
Rosters with contracts, prospect lists, and draft picks will be given to all GM's in the next few days. We're tweaking contracts for young guys on entry level NHL deals to more accurately reflect entry deals in this league so copy and pasting from CapGeek will not be entirely accurate. Prospects will be taken from HockeysFuture. Draft picks I will have tracked in a spreadsheet. Some picks may still move based on how teams fare in the playoffs this season as well as some other offseason decisions before the real NHL drift this June (ex: Blues sign Ryan Miller or not, which 1st the Isles choose to send to Buffalo, etc)
Trading - (now open) Trading opens at the same time amnesty cuts open.
Amnesty Cuts - (May 8th - May 13th) GM's will get a few days to make their 4 amnesty cuts. You cannot save them for later, either use them or lose them.
Contraction Draft 1 - (Begins May 11th 12pm EST) This 4 round, randomized, snake draft will be for the contracted teams prospects and 2014 draft picks (Rounds 1,2,3 only).
Contraction Draft 2 (Begins June 8th 12pm EST) - 2 round, reversed order from the 1st draft, snake draft will be for contracted teams roster players. You will inherit their full contract so keep that in mind when selecting players.
2014 Amateur Draft (Begins July 6th 12pm EST) - We will be following the actual 2014 NHL draft order. Contracted teams p[icks are eligible to be taken in Contraction Draft 1, and any picks not taken will simply be skipped over. This is a 3 round draft. Any prospects taken in the actual NHL draft but not taken here will be awarded to their NHL team's GM here. Contracted teams picks not taken here, and actual undrafted free agents who are no longer draft eligible are UFA's.
Re-sign Period (Begins August 3rd 12pm EST) - All GMs will have an opportunity to resign their own players who are coming off of contract. Resigning will follow the guidelines set in the Rules thread.
UFA (Begins August 31st 12pm EST)- UFA will open up
